See what the GCPES is all about!
We welcome and encourage guests to come see for themselves what we do. For new police or those attending police academies, our meetings are a great place to talk to experienced members of law enforcement. Our members include urban and suburban police officers, members of the ATF, security officers, baliffs, correction officers, members of the judicial system and firefighters, to name a few. We have active and retired law enforcement members. We also have members who are civilians, including a famous author!
We have had some interesting guest speakers at our meetings: Judges, attorneys, U.S. District Attorneys, a retired football player turned judge, and the author of a book about the Cleveland Torso murders to name just a few. We are a charitable organization: we sponsor the Chris Valley Emerald Society Scholarship at Lakeland Community College, and hold the Shannon McBride Emerald Society Reverse Raffle every November.
Some of the events we have held for our members in the past: A Night at the Races at Northfield; a Trip to the Bay; a picnic at the Lake County Captains Field; our Annual Christmas Party meeting in December; our Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage meeting in March. We sponsored a Hospitality room at this year's Police Memorial Weekend, and we participate in Cleveland's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Our meetings are held the first Tuesday of the Month at the CPPA Hall, located at 1303 W. 58th St., Cleveland, and food and beverages are provided. So join us for one of our meetings (held every month from September through June), and if you like what you see, become a member!
